Despicable Me OC - Konstantin

Ever since seeing the trailer for the upcoming third movie, I've been on a HUGE Despicable Me kick.

I've been rewatching the first two movies and reading fanfics. And while reading one, it got me thinking...

I've read a couple fanfics involving Gru not only adopting Margo, Edith and Agnes, but a fourth girl, which is usually an OC. But every fanfic I've come across of this type, the OC is ALWAYS a girl. Now, I can understand why, since Miss Hattie's was an all-girl orphanage, but still...

How interesting would it have been if Gru had not only taken in Margo, Edith, and Agnes... but also a boy?

And that's how I came up with Konstantin.

His name is of Russian descent, meaning "constant and steadfast".

Konstantin, or "Kon" for short, is a streetwise homeless boy of 14 during the events of the first movie.

Being homeless and without a penny to his name, Kon has had to resort to pickpocketing over the years just to be able to buy something to eat every day. But here's the thing... he's good at it. REALLY good at it. He can easily slip a man's wallet out of his back pocket, take out a few spare dollars, and slip it back in place without the guy even noticing!

During one of his worse days though, he hadn't been able to get any money. He was almost caught several times, and he was starving. He was about to call it in for the day, until a young girl, just budding out her toddler years, walked up to him and handed him a box of chocolate chip cookies. He then noticed two other girls with her, with a wagon full of boxes of cookies. Apparently, they were selling them for the orphanage they lived at. He was touched that they'd give him cookies free of charge, and he wanted to pay them back somehow. So he offered to walk them back to their orphanage.

While walking them back, he learned their names were Margo, Edith, and Agnes. He then decided to be their escort every time they went to sell cookies. It was the least he could do. Besides, he knew these streets better than them...
